Wierd ATC Voices

All,

Just wondering if you had a fix for the high pitched (and fast) ATC voices I get with 1.3a and WinXP. I seem to recall there was something on this a while back (sampling rate related or something) but can't do the search.
Any help would be appreciated as the single pilot workload is a bit much and adding a blazingly fast controller to the mix is pushing my capabilities :)
