Online synchrony

So do the VATSIM and IVAO controllers have to type to some airplanes while they talk to others? That can't be very convenient. And the pilots' situational awareness has to suffer, too. Oh, and further question: how do all the pilots and controllers agree on winds, temps, and altimeter settings? Does weather get injected into PS1?
