I am afraid that if world leaders would want to visit all places on
Earth where the human race has committed cruelties against itself,
they would have a full-time program for their whole life :-(

Although on macro scale there isn't much difference between Auschwitz
(and the other destruction camps), and all-out open war with thousands
of casualties, I do feel there is a reason to select Auschwitz for
this type of visit. It represents a hitherto unprecedented, large-scale
well-organised operation to totally annihilate a specific part of the
population. It wasn't a regular war operation. I don't know what to
call it, but it was different.
