born in 1964/05/22, in Lisbon, Portugal.

At the age of 4, my father took me for a ride near Lisbon Airport. At the time, two Lockeed Constelation were still operating with TAP, as well a a few Caravelle!!! My passion for aviation, mainly civil, began, so I think, at that precise moment...

In 1980 I took my PPL (Private Glider Pilot License). The last it got revalidated was in 1986. Around 1987 I had to quit flying because it was too expensive for me.

In 1982 I met MSFS for the first time, but it wasn't until 1984 that I finally became an addict of flight simulator, using MSFS on an Apple!

Until the PS1 event I spent mainly my flight simulation time running ATP and MSFS 4.0, 5.0, 5.0a, 5.1/95 and 98. I also used Flight-Unlimited, and still use and really appreciate X-Plane.

PS1 was, for me, THE TURNING POINT of flight simulation for the home computer. I can't help comparing any civilian simulator to the PS1 level of proficiency, or the kind of support AEROWINX gives to his customers.

Nowadays I spend my simulation time between PS13a and IL2-Sturmovik, about 50% each...

I have a degree and MSc in Computer Science/Artificial Inteligence. Taught for a few years at Lisbon University, mainly Artificial Inteligence and Compilers, but I left the university in 1995. I am a senior systems administrator here at the Portuguese Institute for Meteorology (inside LPPT), and teach Compilers and Data Structures in two universities here in Portugal.
